  5. Ribosomal protein L9 is one  of the proteins from the large ribosomal subunit.
  6. In Escherichia coli, L9 is known to bind directly to the 23S rRNA.  It belongs
  7. to a family of ribosomal proteins which, on the basis of sequence similarities
  8. [1,2], groups:

  10.  - Eubacterial L9.
  11.  - Cyanobacterial L9.
  12.  - Plant chloroplast L9 (nuclear-encoded).
